Privacy Policy

Declaration on the duty to inform

Protecting your personal data is a matter of particular concern for us. We therefore process your data exclusively on the basis of the statutory provisions (GDPR, TKG [Austrian Telecommunications Act] 2003). In this privacy information, we will tell you about the most important aspects of data processing within the framework of our website.

Contacting us

If you contact us by filling in a form on the website or by emailing us, we will save the data you provide for six months for the purposes of processing the request and in case there are any subsequent queries. We will not pass this information on without your consent.

Data storage

We would like to inform you that our web server automatically saves data such as your device’s IP address, the addresses of the sub-pages you visit, details about your browser, as well as the date and time. This data will not be passed on to anyone else.

In addition, we save the following data for the purposes of preparing a quotation and processing a contract: name, address and comments submitted in the contact form. The data that you provide is required in order to fulfil the contract and/or for pre-contractual work. We will not be able to conclude the contract with you without this data. Data will not be transmitted to third parties, with the exception of data which is provided to the transport/shipping company which we commission to deliver goods and to our tax consultants for the purposes of fulfilling our obligations under tax law.

If contact data has been provided and no contract is concluded, the data will be stored for a period of six months for internal statistical purposes. If a contract is concluded, all data resulting from the contractual relationship will be stored until the end of the retention period under tax law (seven years).

The data name, address, goods purchased and purchase date will be stored beyond this until the end of the product liability (10 years). The data processing is carried out on the basis of the statutory provisions of Section 96(3) TKG as well as Article 6(1) point a (consent) and/or point b (necessary for the performance of a contract) GDPR.

Cookies & web analysis

This website uses cookies, which allow for analysis of the use of the website by its users. They contain information on the browser, IP address, operating system and internet connection. We do not pass this data on to third parties or combine it with personal data without your consent.

Cookies primarily serve two purposes. They help us to make it easier for you to navigate through our content and allow the website to be displayed correctly. They are not used to transfer viruses or to start programs.

You can prevent the saving of cookies by applying the appropriate settings in your browser. Deactivating cookies may restrict the functions of the website.

Pseudonymisation

Our concern in terms of the GDPR is to improve our content and our web presence. As the privacy of our users is important to us, user data is pseudonymised. The data processing is carried out on the basis of the statutory provisions of Section 96(3) TKG as well as Article 6(1) point a (consent) and/or point f (legitimate interests) GDPR. The user data will be stored for a period of six months.

Newsletter

If you subscribe to our newsletter, then we will use the data you provide exclusively for this purpose or in order to inform you of circumstances relevant for this service or the registration. We will not pass this information on to third parties.

In order to receive the newsletter, you need a valid email address. In addition, the IP address via which you subscribe to the newsletter and the date on which you request the newsletter will be saved. We use this data as evidence in the event of misuse, if another person’s email address is used to subscribe to the newsletter. In addition, in order to ensure that an email address has not been improperly entered into our distribution list by third parties, we use the ‘double opt-in’ procedure in line with the law. As part of this process, the request for the newsletter, the sending of the confirmation email and the receipt of subscription confirmation are logged.

In order to provide you with targeted information, we also record and process information provided voluntarily about your address and postcode or telephone number.

You are entitled to revoke your consent to the storage of the data, your email address and their use for sending the newsletter at any time. We provide a link allowing you to revoke your consent in every newsletter and on the website. Or you can revoke your consent by sending an email to the following email address: news@westtech.at. We will then delete your data associated to sending the newsletter with immediate effect.

This function was developed by Google so that this website can comply with the valid data privacy provisions and recommendations of the local data protection authorities if they prohibit the storage of the full IP address. The anonymisation/masking of the IP address takes place as soon as the IP addresses are received into the Google Analytics data collection network and before the data is stored or processed.

More information about the IP anonymisation can be found at https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/2763052?hl=en.

Google Analytics reports on demographic features and interests

We have enabled the functions for advertising reports in Google Analytics. The reports on demographic features and interests contain information about age, gender and interests. More information about advertising features can be found at https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/3450482?hl=en&utm_id=ad.

You can end the use of the activities and information of your Google account via a checkbox under ‘Ads Settings’ at https://adssettings.google.com/authenticated.

Disabling data collection by Google Analytics

By using the browser add-on for disabling Google Analytics JavaScript (ga.js, analytics.js, dc.js), website visitors can prevent Google Analytics from using their data. You can prevent Google collecting the data generated by the cookie relating to your use of the website and the processing of this data by downloading and installing the browser plugin available via the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en

If you believe that the processing of your data is infringing data privacy law or that your legal data privacy entitlements have been infringed in any other way, then you can complain to the supervisory authorities. In Austria, this is the Datenschutzbehörde [Data Protection Authority].
