Higher calorific value
The existing water, from the wet logs and later the chips, has to vaporize from the wooden pieces before burning in the heater. The calorific value drops significant with this process. If the logs are split and dried from 50 % to 25 % moisture, then the heating value rises about 60 %!!! Read more
Number of international visitors continues to rise
The Interforst exhibition 2014 can be perfectly satisfied with the performance: 450 exhibitors, 288 of them national and 162 international companies from 27 countries presented the latest products and innovations for forestry. The number of international exhibitors rose by 25%, more and more international visitors were present too.

Professional tree chopping on the waterway
For implementation of flood protection measurements trees had to be cut down along a bank, where the only accessible way to reach the trees was the waterway. The harvest was taken out with the flexible cutting head Woodcracker C450 attached on a Liebherr 924 long reach excavator which was provides by Grünland GmbH from Saxony (Germany).
More than 800 interested people visited the live harvest demonstration of poplar and miscanthus
On 8th of March 2014 the traditional energy crop exhibition at the areal of Camping Holmernhof in Bad Füssing (Bavaria) took place. The main organizers Westtech Maschinenbau, Hargassner Heiztechnik, Infocenter Loryhof as well as Camping Holmernhof presented the newest accomplishments of professional energy crop harvesting techniques.
